The calibre of entries this year was extremely impressive, but Airbus beat the stiff competition to win the Gold award for 2019.

The size, scope and scalability of Airbus’ supply chain finance programme won over this year’s judges, with comments praising the “impressive results both in terms of speed, supplier acceptance and working capital impact”.

The judging panel also commented on the “excellent metrics” disclosed to the panel as proof of the programme’s success, which included an impressive number of suppliers enrolled onto the programme and substantial volume of early payments already made since the programme went live.

Airbus was one of five organisations short-listed for the Gold award, with the others being Sasol, Jumbo, Distell, and Evoqua Water Technologies.
