Supply Chain Finance Awards 2019

Winners of the 2019 Supply Chain Finance Awards

Airbus has won the Gold Award for best supply chain finance programme in the 2019 Supply Chain Finance Awards.

The aircraft manufacturer’s programme has already improved supplier relations, seen enthusiastic supplier uptake, and freed up working capital for the company, ensuring it stood out among the final five short-listed organisations – which included a chemicals producer, a grocery chain, and a water and wastewater company.

The presentation of the awards – kindly sponsored by Rabobank – was the closing highlight of the SCF Europe Forum 2019 at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.

Michiel Steeman, chair of the Supply Chain Finance Community and chair of the judging panel said this year he was pleased to see many more “mature concepts” being developed and implemented.

In a year that has seen supply chains disrupted and livelihoods lost due to Covid-19, the emphasis on the health of the wider supply chain seemed more pertinent than ever.

Airbus was also the winner in the Transport and Logistics category, where Danish shipping company DFDS was highly commended.

Distell was the winner in the FMCG, food and beverage category. South Africa’s Sasol won the Manufacturing and Industrial category, while Jumbo won the retail and apparel prize. Evoqua Water Technologies Corp won in the Technology and Telecoms sector.
