The Supply Chain Finance Community organised the Special Interest Group [SIG] on Supply Chain Finance this year for the fourth time. The event took place online, on the 4th of March 2022 between 15.00 and 17.00 (CET). During the session, academics came together to discuss their working papers and research ideas on Supply Chain Finance to gain new insights. This year’s topic was Challenges for Procurement and Supply Management, Thomas Choi from Arizona State University gave the keynote speech. Five academics from different universities have presented and received valuable feedback from each other and the other academics who attended.
The presenters & their research topics:
Thomas Choi (keynote speech) – SME Suppliers: Social Justice and Deep Tier Financing
Christiaan de Goeij – Order-to-cash (O2C) Process Optimization for Logistics Service Providers (LSPs)
Sakuntala Rao – Adoption of Blockchain in Supply Chain Financing (SCF)
Yasmine Elhenawy – Global Sustainable Supply Chain Integration Through Digital Supply Chain Finance: The Mediating Role of Governance Mechanisms
Elisa Medina – Framing Sustainable Supply Chain Finance: an overview of the phenomenon
Rob Deckers – How the Introduction of the Inverse Principal-Agent Problem Led to Articulation of the Abductive-Hermeneutic Approach to Literature Review
The topics and presentations were very informative, and many interesting questions were asked and answered. The academics provided each other with relevant and useful feedback, which will be of great support towards their work. Creating this community with academic excellence, valuable research and outreach is an important part of our work here at the Supply Chain Finance Community as an academic body. We are looking forward to hearing about the progress of the research presented and we hope to see many academics at our SIG session next year.
