SCFC FCI Corporate Workshop “Building Resilience in the Supply Chain”, South Korea

As SCF Community, we are collaborating with FCI to jointly host the SCF FCI Corporate Workshop at the 56th Annual Meeting of FCI in Seoul. FCI is the Global Representative Body for Factoring and Financing of Open Account Domestic and International Trade Receivables.

The Annual Meeting is a great opportunity to network and discuss current issues within the Factoring and Receivables Finance Industry. The Meeting will feature insightful presentations by international industry pioneers, in-depth panel discussions on a range of topics by leading industry professionals, and global and regional statistic updates. In addition, the Meeting is well known for its plentiful networking opportunities, and Seoul will provide a backdrop for all of these networking sessions while providing some incredible sightseeing.

Join us to learn about the latest discoveries in the field of Supply Chain Finance and the associated technologies. Hear from fellow corporates about innovative business cases and learn about the newest developments from leading researchers and academics. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with the best in the industry.

All corporate attendees are welcome to join the FCI Opening Session starting at 9.00 KST followed by a networking lunch at 12.30 KST, preceding the corporate workshop at 14.00 KST. If you would like to attend the morning session and lunch please confirm in the registration form.

Speakers

Michiel Steeman

Michiel Steeman was selected in 2013 as the inaugural holder of the Supply Chain Finance Professorship at the Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. He is also the founder and former chairman of the Supply Chain Finance Community that has already brought together over 30 leading business schools from more than 20 countries around the world who actively collaborate with companies, banks and governments in the developing field of Supply Chain Finance.

Brian Shim

Brian Shim has served as CEO of Ihime Consulting since 2008 and he is Executive of industrial advisory board for the Korean Society of Supply Chain Management. Professor Brian’s 30 years of professional experience has proven a valuable asset as an educator. He is experienced and has expertise in Supply Chain management, Demand Management, Purchasing & Materials Management, Inventory Management, Logistics, Enterprise Resources Planning and Supply Chain Planning. Professor Brian also has extensive experience in the field of education. He is an adjunct faculty member for several universities. He currently teaches at several other schools, mostly in supply chain management and SCM related fields, including business for undergraduate and graduate level courses.

Brian Shim’s presentation explores how advanced supply chain management can enhance collaboration between finance and operations, focusing on supply chain finance and inventory reduction to optimise working capital through a detailed analysis of cash-to-cash cycle time.
